Bio

Emily Maldari is a designer, artist and fabricator based in New York City. She worked toward and received her Bachelors in architecture from Marywood University and her MFA with a concentration in scenic design from the University of Alabama.

Interested in painting and design from a young age, she started on the production crew in high school, branched out to volunteer work with the local community theater as a scenic artist and eventually spent her summers employed for In The Wings Productions as a scenic charge, assistant designer and scenic designer.

By continuing on to work toward a degree in architectural design out of high school, she strengthened her skills in construction design, spatial organization, rendering and use of technology such as 3D modeling, printing and laser cutting. Studying these areas in depth gave her a strong foundation to enter the world of stage design. Furthermore, by focusing on entertainment production in graduate school her skills further broadened and refined  in areas such as projections design and computer graphics.

Today, she uses all her learned and inherent skills to create designs for both stage and gallery settings including scenic structures and treatments, murals, props, projections, merchandise and custom artwork.
